Justin & Amanda – London City Engagement Shoot
I can’t take much credit for this photoshoot in terms of art directing. Justin and Amanda knew what they wanted and they were the most organised couple ever! (think city couple in law and finance).
For this shoot it was all about the environment ie. London – the buildings, the architecture, the city.
Why? Because Justin and Amanda met in London and their whole relationship has developed here. I actually remember the first time I hung out with them together. They weren’t yet a couple and I was meeting Amanda for the first time. We were in a patisserie in Soho (Princi on Wardour St) and I remember thinking to myself … “I think she really likes him : ) I wonder how this is going to turn out” …
Now fast forward to 2015 and they’re getting married at the end of the year.
It’s funny though, I hung out with Amanda and Justin in the early stages of their relationship but there’s been a huge gap and I haven’t seen much of them in the last 4 years. On the upside, being absent means I’ve been able to come back and observe their relationship with fresh eyes.
Some couples you meet and they are the “same” no matter how much time goes by – like nothing changes between them. However with Justin and Amanda, I could really feel the difference in their relationship. How their individual rhythms have clicked into something very beautiful and deep yet simple. Incredibly thoughtful couple. Very solid, super grounded and playful too.
I feel like something significantly shifts when you choose to marry someone. Something settles in. You become at home. This is Justin and Amanda at home. Doing what they would probably normally do, in the city that has brought them love.
Congratulations Justin and Amanda. So happy for you both! XXX
