Expect Miracles

I’ve always believed in miracles but I haven’t really been keeping my eyes open for them.

I’ve been on a bit of treadmill, rushing through life – trying to ‘think’ my way through what I should do next.

And then this week something miraculous happened for me… A serious of synchronistic events filled my by body and soul with such extreme gratitude that I’ve been on a high for the last few days.

I need to give you some background …
Over the last 4-5 months, my good friend Kristin has been telling me about “GabbyB”. She’s been raving about her. Telling me how “GabbyB” has changed her life and how Gabby’s work has been giving her so much inspiration and love. She was like “Thao, you need to watch and listen to GabbyB, she will change your life”.

She would say this over the phone, she would tell me to buy Gabby’s books, she would email me links to Gabby’s website … she even sent me a link to Gabby’s workshop in London. And to be honest, I didn’t click on a single link or even bother to look up who GabbyB was.

I was in my black hole and feeling sorry for myself. More personal development? no thanks. I was already working through a healing process and didn’t want to do anything else.

So, yes. You guessed it, this week I met Gabrielle Bernstein.

I was given Gabrielle’s new book “May Cause Miracles” by Shaa Wasmund (another awesome lady who I’ll be blogging about on Thursday) and was asked to organise an interview with her. NOTE: At this point in time I had no idea “GabbyB” was Gabrielle Berstein. I hadn’t clicked on any of Kristin’s links, so I had no idea what she looked like or that she was the author of the book I was holding.

So on the day of filming, I decided to do some last minute research. I YouTube’d Gabrielle Bernstein and started to watch her TEDx talk. About half way through she started talking about The Daily Love, which triggered me back to my previous conversations with Kristin – and then I thought “no freaking way”. I went back into my inbox and there it was … all of Kristin’s emails with references and links to Gabby’s work.

I immediately called Kristin and her reaction was pretty much “shut up” x 100 LOL!! We couldn’t stop laughing. The synchronicity was just TOO MUCH for us. Kristin loves, respects and admires Gabby’s work … and here I was on the other side of the world, meeting the author that had changed Kristin’s life. We were giggling like 13 year old girls 😀

So I met Gabby – who is AMAZING by the way! And it’s not that Gabby’s content is new or revolutionary to the world of personal empowerment / spiritual development. It’s more, the way she teaches is simple and easy to understand. She appeals to a mass audience and makes spiritual development fun, hip and fashionable.

Gabby was featured on Oprah as a next generation thought leader and The New York Times says:

“There is a new role model for New York’s former Carrie Bradshaws… well versed in self-help and New Age spirituality… Ms Bernstein is influenced less by the oeuvre of Candace Bushnell than by that of Marianne Williamson”
New York Times

The REAL Miracle…
But the miracle for me wasn’t meeting Gabby (though it was amazing!). It’s what Gabby represented for me. A synchronistic series of events with a message I cannot deny.

Two weeks prior to meeting Gabby I was on a workshop where I was redesigning the purpose, intention and vision behind Thaoski. I came up with a vision so big and so daring, that it scared me. I felt inadequate and not good enough because I don’t have the knowledge, experience or expertise to pull it off. There was so much fear inside of me.

That night Kristin called me to ask for my advice on her business, and then she asked me what I was up to. I told her I was at a workshop and I nervously told her the new vision and game I wanted to play.

Kristin got so excited by my idea. She was like “Thao you’ve got to do this”. And then she started talking about GabbyB and she said something like, “Thao I can see you being your own version of GabbyB”. Obviously not doing what she does (err there is no way I’m becoming a motivational speaker!), but Kristin had a vision of me impacting a huge audience with my new dream. I didn’t believe her and ignored her confidence in me.

Again, I had no idea who GabbyB was and never looked her up.

And then to think, 2 weeks later, I was meeting Gabby in person.

It’s definitely a sign for me…
A calling for me to step up and do what my heart yearns for. And that fear I had about not being good enough, well it kind of all disappeared. I just can’t believe the synchronicity of events!

The moral of the story? Expect miracles! Oh and buy Gabby’s book!!!

PS. THANK YOU Kristin for being my rock and for always believing in me. I love you! THANK YOU Shaa for giving me the opportunity to meet Gabby and flipping my world upside down! This journey keeps getting better and better!

PPS. I will be sharing the new vision soon when the time is right – it’s a big one so I’m going to need lots of help with it! : )
